In the Department of Psychiatry (2022-present), I work in a few different roles including:
(a) as a biostatistician to manage data from various observational and clinical trials funded by organizations like the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH),
(b) as an instructor teaching a research methods class and a bases of behavior class in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program ,
(c) as a consultant in the General Psychiatry Residency Program to aid medical residents during a research rotation and on completing scholarly research projects, and
(d) as a collaborator working with other faculty on data-related needs, such as in the Transitional Age Youth Clinic and in the Functional Neurodegenerative Diseases Clinic.
As an Adjunct Instructor of Psychology, I taught 1-2 courses per regular academic semester in the Tarrant County College District Southeast and Northwest campuses. I worked at TCC during the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years and taught classes such as General Psychology and Lifespan Growth and Development. As well, I helped develop curricula for Statistical Methods in Psychology and Biological Psychology.
Post-undergrad, I moved to Fort Worth, TX to complete my graduate work in experimental psychology at Texas Christian University from 2016-2021. I completed my MS in the cognitive area in Dr. Tim Barth's Ethics and Moral Reasoning Lab. Then, I completed my PhD in the neuroscience area in Dr. Tracy Centanni's Genetics of Auditory and Visual Perception and Plasticity Lab (now at the University of Florida). My dissertation was titled, Non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Stimulation Improves Language and Comprehension: Empirical Evidence and a Review of Reading Skills.
I attended Saint Louis University from 2012-2016 and completed a major in Neuroscience and minors in Health Care Ethics and Medical Humanities.
My time at SLU opened my eyes to research, as I worked on projects in Dr. Jeremiah Weinstock's Wellness, Addiction, Gambling, and Exercise Research (WAGER) Lab and Dr. Brenda Kirchhoff's Brain and Cognition Lab. My capstone project, Comparison between Computerized and Paper-and-Pencil Neuropsychological Screening Assessments was supervised by Dr. Tony Buchanan in the Cognitive Neuroscience of Stress (CNS) Lab.
